13,300 Mn LKR for Rural Infrastructure Development Programme
Under the programme of “ Rural Infrastructure Development ” being implemented by the present government to strengthen the rural economy, development initiatives under various sectors including rural roads and bridges, community based water supply schemes, community wells and agro-wells, electricity supply, irrigation, rural fairs, fisheries outlets, etc are currently in progress island wide.
Decentralized Capital Budget Programme (DCB)
As per the instructions of Hon. Prime Minister, It was proposed to allocate Rs. 10.00 million annually for a Member of Parliament (MP) under the Decentralized Capital Budget Programme (DCB) in the Government Budget. Considering the difficulties encountered in implementation of DCB Programme during the year 2015, with an additional sum of Rs.5.00 million, altogether of Rs. 15 million have been allocated for each Member of Parliament for the year 2016 and 22,669 projects worth Rs. 3375 million are being implemented in the island.
